ABOUT THE SISTERS OF THE HOLY NAMES OF JESUS AND MARY
The Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) is an international congregation of Catholic Sisters based in Montreal, Canada. The U.S.-Ontario Province has offices in in Oregon, California, Washington, and Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Sisters of the Holy Names have a long history of educating young women and other ministry work dating back to the founding of the order in 1843. The Sisters are dedicated to the full development of the human person through education, social justice, contemplation and the arts.
POSITION SUMMARY: Advance the mission of Sisters of the Holy Names by leading the Development office staff to secure needed resources through strong fundraising and public relations programs. Work collaboratively with Development team to maximize the individual strengths of each team member.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a comprehensive development program to support ministries and missions of the Sisters worldwide, and to provide retirement funding for retired Sisters.
Work with the Province Leadership Team (PLT) to create an annual development plan with goals and strategies for major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation giving and planned giving.
Ensure regular communication with the Development team to analyze and adjust strategies and goals.
Maintain an active portfolio of donors and prospective donors for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Prepare the annual budget and provide regular accountability reports to the PLT and Development team
Ensure accurate record keeping. Guarantee all fundraising activities follow legal and ethical standards, including tax regulations, donor preferences and privacy laws.
DIRECT REPORTS: Donor Relations Managers (4) and Donor Information & Stewardship Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish satisfactorily the full essential duties and responsibilities listed in job description. Education: Advanced degree in business administration, marketing/public relations, non-profit management, accounting/finance or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ progressively responsible experience in non-profit fund-raising, with a proven track record of successful fund-raising efforts. Demonstrated job performance in strategic thinking and program assessment abilities pertaining to campaigns, annual giving, corporate and foundation giving, and planned giving.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to foster respectful, collaborative relationships with development team members, SNJM staff and departments, sisters and external stakeholders.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage, market and educate SNJM donors and prospects on opportunities for philanthropic support.
Knowledge of funding sources for faith-based organizations. Thorough understanding of all areas of charitable giving.
Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in development and ability to implement those best suited for a particular situation.
Computer proficiency, including extensive experience with development/fund-raising software. Donor Perfect database experience preferred.
Ability to travel to other SNJM locations, professional conferences, and related events.
Salary: $110,000 - $118,000. The pay range for this position is annually based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications & education.
